In between inventing electronic toilet roll holders and nail varnish for cats, I wish someone would come up with something really useful (to me):
I want a synapse-writable internal brain drive, that records everything taken in through my eyes and ears and allows exporting through a USB drive just behind my left ear (to hide the technology from anyone finding your endless gazes kinda suspicious). No more running out of battery power (Bar One in stomach, brain keeps going) or driving around Stellenbosch trying to find yet another 1gig memory stick. And most importantly, no more missing the perfect shot. At last, what you see is what you’ll actually get!
Many of us at Zoopy HQ have spent a lot of time out of the office this week, which is a good thing considering we’d started to forget what non-fluorescent light looks like. We’ve been spending loads of time at feedback sessions with users, testing out some pretty snazzy new functionality, and having a cool-by-the-pool time at some great SA events.
We had a blast at the annual Valley Pre-Primary Sandcastle Competition on Hout Bay beach yesterday (Human Right’s Day). It was amazing to see the sand that usually gets between my toes (and everywhere else) be put to good use. The winning castle was an igloo with accompanying eskimo in a canoe and lapdog. Check out glimpses of the day’s events: video and photos.
Ernie Els vs Grey Teacher vs De La Rey vs Durban spring tide vs Fidentia
In the 17 days that we’ve been in Live Beta, it’s been fascinating (addictive, even) to see how the wider viewing audience has responded to content posted by Zoopy users.
For obvious reasons, the Ernie Els ‘doos’ video has had a huge ‘ohmigosh’ factor. But the SA teacher flipping out continues to take the cake. De La Rey’s made hot water cooler conversation around the world in recent weeks and no one can get enough of J. Arthur W. Brown, the Fidentia boss who hit a speed wobble recently.
On the photo side of things, it’s Durban, Durban and more Durban. With the recent spring tide devastation, it’s no surprise that this photo, this one and this one quickly became the most popular photos uploaded. And just for good measure, the Sharks cheerleaders did their bit to lift everyone’s spirits!
What a week
Have an awesome weekend and instead of sleeping til 1 on Sunday, drag yourself out of bed and show us what you’ve got. Then you can go back to bed, knowing that you have a chance of taking home a 30gig Video iPod. Sweet dreams!
