Barney diary

Dear diary

Yippee -  at last I went to visit "petshop boys" and my lovely "foster mother" Pat, gave me such a nice "pedicure" and thank heavens now my mom can get off my back, because Pat also gave me a clean bill of health!  I told you, they will  have to work it out why I am plucking my feathers all the time.  It is just all about wanting attention, attention and more attention!

That will serve them right for the odd hour or two that I am left all by myself.  What do they expect, must I entertain myself with those two 'little brats' living with me!  I do not mean to be horrible, the two budgies are not really "brats", if the truth be known, I am the "brat" but hey, I do not mind to be called that because I truly deserve it!

Unfortunately for my mom, I 'slipped up' at "petshop boys" but luckily for her nobody heard my 'forbidden language' only my mom did!  Then off course mothers normally know everything, how they manage that, only they will know.

I am so happy that the old lady  is only going down to North Beach tomorrow for the Quicksilver Pro competition.  According to her, today they only have the 'heats', whatever that means, but I am ok with that arrangement, have her all to myself. She is more interested in the main events.

To get back to my trip to "petshop boys", I am so fortunate!  I got three lovely new toys but I noticed my mom 'slipped' one toy into the budgie cage but I am all good with that.  I am scrambling around in the bottom of my cage and just keeping an eye on the latest addition to my cage.  In the African Grey kingdom, we do not take likely to new items.  I do not want to sound ungrateful, but we take our time to get used to new things.  My parents should be grateful in that regard because they never have to worry about my health and well being cause I will "always say no to drugs" or any strange substances!

I am feeling in top form after my trip and are waiting to see what the old lady will capture tomorrow. Going to be a long day for me, my dad is having 'night racing with them ponies' and I cannot wait for him to come home!  In the meantime I am looking forward to my siesta this afternoon and hope them budgies will 'zip it' and give me a break!  Chat to you tomorrow and hope the waves are good!
