Ah yeah, I can only imagine. I used the Ubuntu Studio themes for a long time, they are much more pleasing to me personally, although one or two of the themes that ship with Jaunty isn't too bad either. There seem to be some nice themes available on gnome-look.org but it takes a while of browing through the crud, I don't always find the top-rated themes that nice either.
It is pretty hideous, especially on the bravia. The browns are brownier and the oranges are orangier. But I don't find the alternatives much more appealing. Plus ubuntu doesn't really have a theme that takes full advantage of all the compiz stuff (which I don't use but might do if there was a theme that worked well with it).

1 month agoAn excellent and objective overview of the challenges facing Silicon Cape; Andrea said what many of us don't want to hear but must hear if we want to move forward with this. A definite must-watch, in my opinion.

3 months agoThe default Ubuntu desktop is horriffic. I always hated that hideous brown/orange colour scheme. First thing I do on a clean install is start tweaking the theme settings, although I have to say that things have improved a lot over the last couple of years since Ubuntu started out.

4 months agoYeah, that is the case with the old "statuses friends" method, but the social graph methods return all the friends ids in one go. Works pretty well, except then you only have the ids, not the user details...

4 months agoThis is the trees theme - I have to be honest that I normally don't really like it, but at times like these it tends to be somewhat cute, so I make a temporary switch-over.

6 months agoYeah, I also had that a few times, but not with Ubuntu yet. Am busy looking into creating minimalist JeOS bundles for out-of-the-box server setups.
