We need more people to visit Soweto for any reason, people are hungry, they need tourists to bring us some money.

Listen, I'm not going to justify what I did, why I went, who we were with or what we saw to you as you clearly are targeting me personally and not the content. Ofcourse visiting a place I would suggest people go to the more appealing areas. Like when a person visits New York, they are told to visit Manhattan, not the Bronx. Don't be ridiculous and argumentative for the sake of it. Try to look at the larger picture. If you refuse to, then this is my last comment in response to you.

Thanks for trying to engage at the very least but you need to gain some perspective I think.

Singiswatim - why are you so angry? Why do you shout so much? What exactly is your dysfunction in life? Is it me because I am white or what?

I've jammed it up in Soweto with mates before so don't sit behind your screen and judge me ignorantly. To address your point about "guards" do you think that people in Soweto need guards? We didn't. We had no guards, the people were friendly enough that they welcomed us in the restaurant and pubs. People like you however are the kind that make others afraid of entering Soweto, people like you who shout and make noise and "other" Soweto as if it is this place that no man can enter and leave alive.

You need to step back and realise that your own comments adversely affect the way that people perceive Soweto, the people and the history.
