493 views Pravin Gordhan was the commissioner of the SA Revenue Service - meaning he was the top man in SARS. Gordhan was also leader of the National Indian Congress, the United Democratic Front and a key leader of the ANC underground structures. Between 1991 and 1994, he chaired the Convention for a Democratic SA . He was also co-chairman of the Transitional Executive Council, which oversaw the transition to the first democratically elected government. He chaired the parliamentary committee that focused on the implementation of the new SA constitution and the transformation of local government. Gordhan was re-elected for the fourth time as chairman of the Council of World Customs Organisation in 2004.
