Andrea Böhmert is Co-Managing Partner of Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa, a Venture Capital Fund focused on taking South African technology leaders globally.
From 2004 to 2007 she was Co-Founder and Partner of Cape Venture Partners, a specialist advisory services company to technology companies and entrepreneurs ready for external investments. In this role Andrea developed a strong network with the South African Funding and entrepreneurial community.
Andrea is Chairperson of the Cape IT Initiative, the Western Cape Umbrella organisation that represents the IT Cluster, and also serves as a Director on the Board of the IT Business Incubator, Bandwidth Barn.
In addition, she serves on the Advisory Board of the SAP Meraka Unit for Technology Development. Before working with Cape
Venture Partners, Andrea had Senior Management positions at Dimension Data and Siemens.

An excellent and objective overview of the challenges facing Silicon Cape; Andrea said what many of us don't want to hear but must hear if we want to move forward with this. A definite must-watch, in my opinion.
