In 1978 The Argus, Cape Town's largest newspaper, agreed to sponsor the 'Argus Cycle Tour'. The inaugural event was held on 28 October 1978 and attracted 525 entrants.
31 years later, in 2009, almost thirty thousand cyclists took part! This year, 2010, history will be made yet again. Lance Armstrong, multiple Tour De France winner, will cycle at this year’s event. He will be riding under the Live Strong banner. We speak to one of the Live Strong team members.
