It is really a shame that the teachers had to join the other striking unions. I find it incredible that we pay so little to people that carry the biggest responsibility for the future of South Africa. But maybe the government's biggest interest is in having an uneducated youth, because when people cannot read or write, they are sure not to know about corruption etcTrevor Manuel has promised a major improvement to the teaching profession. What has happened to that?
