  It is really a shame that the teachers had to join the other striking unions. I find it incredible that we pay so little to people that carry the biggest responsibility for the future of South Africa. But maybe the government's biggest interest is in having an uneducated youth, because when people cannot read or write, they are sure not to know about corruption etcTrevor Manuel has promised a major improvement to the teaching profession. What has happened to that?

  It is a pity that the public servants had to go to such drastic extreme, but they forget one thing...................What about their "commitment" to their jobs, and what about the critically ill??? The Gov can afford to pay them thw 12%, but would rather spend R70m on a useless wall
