About Audien Atom and Nano Hearing Aids
Audien Atom and Nano Hearing Aids are both reputable brands that offer affordable hearing aid solutions. To assess their credibility, we conducted research and found that they have a presence on Trustpilot and Better Business Bureau (BBB).
For Audien Atom, their Trustpilot rating stands at 3.7 out of 5, and on BBB, they have a rating of 4.2 out of 5 with an overall B rating. In contrast, Nano Hearing Aids holds a Trustpilot rating of 3.6 out of 5 and a BBB rating of 3.1 out of 5, with no overall rating available yet.
These ratings suggest that both brands have established themselves as reputable and trustworthy options in the hearing aid market, and they do not appear to be associated with scam products or companies.
Both companies share a common goal: to create hearing aid products that are user-friendly, of good quality, and accessible to as many people as possible, if not most. They seem to offer a great initial solution, especially for those seeking their first pair of hearing aids while they save up for more advanced options.
In the sections that follow, we will delve into the key aspects of both brands to help you make an informed decision.
Comparing the Design
When comparing the designs of Audien Atom and Nano Hearing Aids, you’ll find that both brands offer multiple models with distinct design characteristics.
Audien Atom Models:
Audien provides two models, the Atom and the Pro. Both of these models are known for their compact and discreet design. They are smaller in size compared to traditional hearing aids. The Audien models are crafted with the intention of fitting comfortably within the ear canal while remaining as inconspicuous as possible. The beige color of these hearing aids further aids in their discreetness. Notably, each Audien hearing aid features a small adjustable knob at the back, allowing users to fine-tune the volume to their preference. Additionally, there’s a “pull line” or “antenna” for easy removal, which can be detached if preferred. The Pro model is even smaller than the standard Atom.
Nano Hearing Aids Models (CIC2 and CIC4):
Nano Hearing Aids offer two models, the CIC2 and CIC4. These models have a somewhat different design philosophy. They consist of two parts: one that fits inside the ear canal and another that fits in the outer part of the ear. At first glance, the Nano Hearing Aids somewhat resemble wireless earbuds, with both models available in red and blue, serving as clear indicators for the correct orientation (right and left earpiece). Like Audien, the Nano Hearing Aids have a beige-colored back section to maintain discretion when placed in the ear. They also feature charging contacts and a simple push button on the back of each earpiece for volume adjustment. Additionally, Nano Hearing Aids incorporate the “pull line” for easy removal, just like Audien.
Both Audien (specifically the Pro model) and Nano Hearing Aids (both models) come with a case that also functions as a charging case, ensuring that your hearing aids remain powered when not in use.
In terms of design, Audien Atom emphasizes a compact and discreet form factor, while Nano Hearing Aids adopt a slightly larger, earbud-like design with distinctive color-coding for orientation. Your choice may depend on your preferences for size and style.
Sound Quality and Technology
Sound quality is a pivotal factor when evaluating hearing aids, as the primary goal is to provide clear and amplified sound. In this aspect, both Audien Atom and Nano Hearing Aids offer unique approaches.
To assess sound quality, it’s essential to rely not only on personal opinions but also on the experiences of a broader range of users. We conducted research by examining reviews left by verified customers to gain a more comprehensive perspective.
Surprisingly, the majority of customers from both brands express satisfaction with their hearing aids, indicating that they are generally content with their purchases. However, there were some exceptions noted with Nano Hearing Aids, where a few customers expressed minor dissatisfactions or annoyances. For instance, one customer was unhappy that their Nano hearing aid amplified every sound, and another mentioned that the sound resembled talking with water in their ears.
Overall, it is evident that customers generally find both brands to be effective in terms of sound quality. It is important to acknowledge that there may be an adjustment period when transitioning to using these devices, which can influence one’s perception of sound quality.
Regarding the technology employed by both brands, Audien is more transparent in showcasing its sound technology. Both the Audien Atom and Pro models incorporate the “Superior Atom Chip Technology,” which is designed to deliver consistent and superior audio clarity. The Audien Pro, in particular, features enhanced feedback cancellation, effectively reducing noise using an adaptive filter to provide clear sound from the hearing aid.
In contrast, Nano Hearing Aids do not clearly specify the type of sound technology they utilize. The available information suggests that Nano CIC OTC hearing aids aim to produce natural and complete sound by ensuring cleaner and improved hearing.
In comparing the sound technology and customer feedback on sound quality, it appears that Audien hearing aids, particularly the Pro model, have an edge in providing better sound quality. However, individual preferences and needs may vary, so it’s important to consider personal requirements when making a decision.
Customization
Customization plays a crucial role in the comfort and effectiveness of hearing aids, as these devices are worn daily and go inside the ear. The wrong fit can lead to discomfort or even pain. Therefore, the ability to customize your hearing aid is highly important.
Both Audien and Nano Hearing Aids recognize the significance of customization and offer options to tailor the fit to individual preferences.
Audien, in particular, appears to provide a more extensive range of customization. They offer six different sizes of silicone earbuds, allowing users to select the one that best suits their needs and comfort.
Nano Hearing Aids, while also providing customization options, offer three sizes of ear domes. While this is fewer than Audien’s offerings, it still provides some level of personalization for wearers.
Another crucial aspect of customization is the ability to adjust the volume. Both Audien and Nano Hearing Aids offer volume control, giving users the flexibility to fine-tune the hearing aid to their preferred level of amplification.
In summary, both Audien and Nano Hearing Aids prioritize customization, allowing users to choose the ear domes that best fit their comfort and preferences and adjust the volume to their liking. Audien offers a wider selection of earbud sizes, providing more flexibility in customization.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life and charging are critical considerations when evaluating hearing aids, especially in our demanding daily lives. Audien and Nano Hearing Aids have notable differences in this aspect.
Audien Battery Life:
Audien emerges as the winner in terms of battery life. Their base model, the Audien Atom, boasts an impressive 20 hours of battery life per charge. The more advanced Audien Atom Pro takes it a step further with an impressive 24 hours of battery life, plus the convenience of an additional 4 days of charge in its case. Both Audien models offer battery life that is more than sufficient to last through a full day without any concerns.
Nano Hearing Aids Battery Life:
On the other hand, Nano Hearing Aids, specifically the CIC2 and CIC4 models, provide 12 hours of battery life per charge. However, they compensate for this somewhat limited battery life by offering the ability to recharge the hearing aids three more times using the provided charging case. This approach allows users to extend the overall usage time without needing to find an outlet for charging.
Charging Methods:
In terms of charging methods, both Audien and Nano Hearing Aids utilize contacts on the back of each hearing aid bud for charging. However, there is an exception with the Audien Atom model, which does not come with a charging case. Instead, it utilizes a charging dock. The other models from both Audien (Atom Pro) and Nano (CIC2 and CIC4) come with portable carrying and charging cases, making it convenient for users to charge their hearing aids on the go.
It’s worth noting that both brands include a charging brick and cable with their hearing aids, which ensures that users have all the necessary accessories for keeping their devices powered.
Which One is More Affordable
When it comes to affordability, Audien hearing aids appear to be the more budget-friendly option compared to Nano Hearing Aids.

- Audien Atom: $99.99 per pair with free USA shipping.
- Audien Atom Pro: Priced at $149.99 for one pair, including free shipping.

Both Audien and Nano Hearing Aids offer a 45-day money-back guarantee, providing customers with the flexibility to try the products and return them if they are not satisfied.
Additionally, Audien accepts FSA and HSA cards as payment options at checkout, making it even more convenient for those who have these healthcare accounts.
In conclusion, when considering features and pricing, Audien Hearing Aids appear to be the more affordable choice. Their competitive pricing and special offers make them an attractive option for individuals looking for budget-friendly hearing aids without compromising on quality.

Final commitment, with my need for two RIGHTS and the Nano charger ONLY holds a set, one of mine is loose if not in my ear.
I have the Nano in the ear units for a couple years.
I just bought the Atom Pro 2.
Due to a benign tumor in my left inner ear I only use a right.
Random differences: I took me awhile to convince Nano to just send two RIGHTS. But they did.
The charger can not interchange. A nano lasts about seven hours, right at the most. I always have the other one with in the charger. Nano charger does not like to charge if earpiece is still on. It is a bother to turn off under noisy conditions even tho it beeps to remind to TURN OFF. then charge. The little button is hard to work to change volume and modes.
Otherwise service is fine.
NEW Atom Pro 2 is easy to change volume and modes. You can leave it in your ear to adjust. The Nano has to be out to adjust so you have to hold close mainly checking by volume of FEEDBACK.
SO far had to tell if quality of sound is different?
Atom fits either ear so great for me.
Fitting in the ear seems easier?
I am 83. We will see?
