How Does Pivo Pod Work?
Pivo combines a camera mount with powerful auto-tracking apps, which allows Pivo to track you while you record yourself for Instagram or TikTok.
To use Pivo, simply mount your smartphone into a holder, connect to the app, and Pivo will start tracking your every move. It also rotates 360 degrees, so dancing and recording in a circle won’t be a problem.
Another advantage of Pivo is it’s designed to be compatible with any standard tripod. This makes it even easier to set up a camera whenever you plan to use it. But for standard recordings, you can always use it on a desk or table without needing the tripod.
Regarding the software and customizations, you can easily adjust how you want to be framed, such as left, right, or center. Also, adjusting the tracking speed and many more allows you to capture shots of your vision to reality.
Features and Modes of Pivo Pod
Pivo Pod is packed with a lot of great features, such as:
- Motorized Smartphone Mount: Pivo uses a built-in motor to rotate the smartphone smoothly, allowing the user to capture moving or dynamic videos without manually adjusting the camera.
- Body and Face Tracking: Pivo uses tracking software that accurately detects your body’s shape, ensuring you always look best in videos, especially in dance videos. Body and face tracking gives you more creative freedom by keeping all eyes on what matters and letting the Pivo do the rest. It ensures you stay front and center in each shot, making it more engaging and natural for viewers.
- Auto Zoom: Whether you move up closer or further away, Pivo will automatically adjust the video so you remain in the framing.
- Pose Mode: This hands-free feature allows you to capture better-quality photos of yourself by using either a front or back camera. Using this mode will feel like having your own personal photographer at the ready. Besides mentioned modes, there are three more creative modes: Many Me, Motion Timelapse, and Magic Edge. These modes allow you to create awesome-looking content without editing skills.

What is Pixem/Pixio?
What we like
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor tracking
- Good auto-tracking
- Automatic zoom
- Works up to 333ft/100m
- It can be used with smartphones and tablet
- Currently, support live streaming for Facebook
What we don’t like
- You need to use a Pixem wristwatch to be able to use auto-tracking
- Lack of integration with social apps
- Expensive
Pixem and Pixio are auto-tracking camera mounts produced by the Move’n See company for indoor and outdoor use. They look the same, but one is for smartphones, and the other is for cameras. On the first hand, Pixio is designed to work with third-party cameras such as Sony and Canon, which depending on the brand, can capture really high-quality footage. Pixem, on the other hand, is more like Pivo, designed to work with a smartphone but also with tables.
They are great for use at conferences, ice skating, horse riding, etc. As they say on their website, “film individual sports and stage.”
How Does Pixem/Pixio Work?
Compared to Pivo Pod, Pixem and Pixio are very easy to use. However, they use slightly different systems for tracking movement. To track your movement with Pixem/Pixio, you need to wear their watch on your wrist, arm, or pocket, so the tracking mount can determine where you are and track your movement automatically.
Then, with the help of the Pixem watch, you can use the auto-tracking feature up to 330 ft/100m, which is impressive, to be honest. It can also adjust the zoom of your smartphone and tablet automatically and in real time.
Pixem/Pixio Device Support and Accessories
The Pixem app is compatible with iPad Air and newer and iPhone 5s and newer. For Android, the app is compatible with Android 5 and newer smartphones and tablets.
In terms of accessories, Pixem, besides tripods and mounts, also offers protective gear and carry cases. Regarding Pixio, they have the usual accessories, but they also sell bundles where you can get a Sony CX or AX camera with the mount.
Differences Between Pivo Pod and Pixio/Pixem
Both Pivo and Pixem/Pixio are great auto-tracking camera mounts, but at the same, they are quite different, and in our opinion, they target different types of content creators.
For example, Pivo is more suitable for small influencers and offers more accessories for content creation, such as lightning, audio, and remote control.
Pixio/Pixem, on the other hand, are more expensive auto-tracking mounts for more professional use and capturing. For example, it’s used for sports events and conferences.
Using their wrist watch also contributes to better accuracy in camera tracking and a range of 333ft which is great if you plan to use it outdoors.
The only downside currently is the lack of social app support and their integration, but they should be changed soon, as the company announced.
Pixem is compatible with smartphones and tablets, whereas Pivo Pod only supports smartphones. In terms of build, design, and features, you could use them for both professional and hobby use.
However, we think people with more experience with video recording and photography could get more from Pixio/Pixem.
Final Words
If you are looking for a mount for more professional purposes, we recommend Pixem/Pixio. However, if you are an influencer looking for a mount with more social app support and integration, then we recommend Pivo.
Consider your needs as a content creator and decide which product is more suitable for you.

Very good article. I could define what I need the mount system for, but I was having difficulty deciding which system would be best for my needs. Budget is always a consideration, didn’t want to spend extra for features I would never use. You defined the features and their uses well. Now I can buy with confidence. Thank You!
You’re welcome! I’m glad that you found your answer and that the article was useful.
