2010 grass disaster

Last week they lay the first grass at Athlone Stadium, one of the stadiums that will be used for 2010. But they cannot continue laying the grass at other stadiums, including Green Point, because the first stadium has already been destroyed. A large number of moles, namely Cape Golden Moles, have been attracted to the newly laid grass, because they are using rich, high quality soils and plenty of irrigation, making the grass and soil attractive to the moles. They are also growing the grass off location, so the moles are not used to this quality of grass and soil. Construction workers are frustrated as they are not sure how to proceed. The schedule and budget for the 2010 stadium grass is being affected and no decision has yet been made as to what will happen to the moles.
